Logitech K340 Wireless Keyboard Review

The Logitech Wireless Keyboard K340 comes with a unifying wireless receiver, and is a great, affordable space saving keyboard for either home or office use.

The Logitech Wireless Keyboard K340 is another Logitech keyboard that works with their unifying receiver, which makes life a lot easier, as it allows you to add up to 6 wireless devices to a single receiver, saving a ton of USB slot space. The keyboard itself is designed to save space, because while the keys are full sized and it comes with a full sized keyboard, there is little space between the number pad and main type pad, and the border around the keyboard is not very large. Measuring at 17.5 x 7 x 1.7 inches, and weighing at 2.4 pounds, it is heavy enough to stay in place while typing while not being so large that it will take up a large amount of desk space.

The keyboard runs off of 2 AA batteries, and according to the box, boasts a battery life of three years, or 2 million keystrokes. Since I use my keyboard every single day, and usually spend at least an hour of that time writing articles, I doubt that they battery life will last for three years with extended use. However, I have had no problems with connectivity or faltering signals, so I can assume that the batteries hold their charge well after 5 months of typing. Once the batteries begin to lose their charge, a warning light will appear, alerting you of the need to change them. However, the built In on/off switch can help you save battery power by turning it off while watching a movie or when leaving the computer for an extended period of time. It connects to the computer through a 2.4 GHz wireless connection, which is extremely secure and reliable. The receiver is tiny, small enough so that it will not break off and leave a portion inside your computer, which makes it great for laptops; you can leave it in the computer while travelling or moving it around without fear of damaging the computer.

The keys are set in the standard layout, so you don’t have to worry about getting used to new key placement or missing keys, or deal with troublesomely placed hot keys. The keys themselves are quiet to type on, and provide just enough resistance to be able to type quickly and efficiently. They are extremely responsive, and are require enough effort to type on so that typos and misplaced keystrokes are not a common occurrence.
